We first met on an online dating app, where what started as casual conversation slowly grew into something meaningful. For nearly a year, we talked, laughed, and got to know each other from a distance before she finally agreed to meet in person. Our first date was on my motorcycle, riding through Miami to a motorcycle-themed coffee shop. From the moment we met face-to-face, everything just clicked. One date turned into many, and as summer faded into fall, our connection deepened with every ride, every conversation, and every shared moment.
That fall, we briefly went our separate ways, and she began seeing someone else. I was caught off guard by how deeply it affected me. I was upset, jealous, and suddenly certain that I couldn’t imagine my life without her. Determined not to lose her, I pursued her again and, in a moment she’ll never let me live down, asked her to marry me at a taco stand on Miami Beach. Not exactly romantic, but it was real, and she said yes, making it the happiest moment of my life. The following weekend, I formally proposed on the beach, and she said yes once more. We kept our engagement a surprise at first, later sharing the news with shocked but joyful friends and family. A few months later, we were married in a beautiful, intimate beach ceremony we designed ourselves. Now, over a year and a half into our marriage, we’ve built a life and family together, including our beloved dog, Bello—and we look forward to many more years, growing and building side by side.
